Art and installations
As an artist, Adam Dawe is interested in the phenomenological, illusory and optical. He aims to stimulate a direct response from the viewer that pitches their visual perception against their preconceptions ‚ seeking out a poetry that lies between the spaces of the real and imaginary, present and memory, the actual and virtual.
He often uses light, with its fleeting and ambiguous energy and mass duality, and simple objects as primary materials. These are related on a human scale, in order to reveal an experience that people strongly interreact with, rather than detached, rhetoric and gallery reliant art objects.
